Grandmothers Beyond Borders founded in Milwaukee Wisconsin USA, is an all volunteer organization that raises funds to support community based initiatives at the grass roots level in Uganda which work to improve the lives of grandmothers and their grandchildren who are struggling to survive because of the devastating impact of AIDS.
Mission Statement
Grandmothers Beyond Borders helps to lift the burden of HIV/AIDS in Uganda , Africa by funding grass roots community based projects that provide support and care to grandmothers raising their grandchildren because their own children have died from AIDS.

Current projects that receive funding
Each village has formed an elders association with more than 400 members in total.
Through the associations the grandmothers are recipients of piggery and poultry projects. They also receive bedding and food baskets
They hold monthly meetings where they can discuss their concerns, offer each other emotional support and plan for the future
Each association has elected leaders who visit the grandmothers who are too sick to come to the monthly meetings.
